British and Asian beats DJ Bobby Friction is co-presenter of Radio One’s first ever prime time Asian slot.

Bobby Friction & Nihal play the best Asian and Bhangra beats on Radio One every Wednesday night. Described as ‘the most listened to Urban Asian show in the world’, it brings the sounds of the British Asian Urban Nation to listeners each week. Just six after joining months at Radio One, Bobby and Nihal won a prestigious Gold Sony Award for Best Specialist Radio Show

Bobby also recently joined the BBC Asian Network to present the Album Chart Show, a rundown of the top 20 albums in British Asian music, on Saturdays between 1 and 3 pm.

Bobby Friction is a DJ/Artist who pioneered the club Kizmit and was a resident DJ at the legendary Swaraj @ The Blue Note which showcased new Asian talent and sounds and the equally renowned Shaanti in Birmingham, the first Asian club outside of London which completely redefined the British Asian musical experience.

He remains a top club DJ, including hosting the popular 'Friction' night at London's Cargo venue. Booby also recorded BOBBY FRICTION & NIHAL - THE COMPILATION* in 2004, through V2 records last year, featuring two sides of exclusive Bhangra, Hip Hop, Rap, R&B, Drum & Bass and House.

Bobby was the founder member of Ecosanti and has also recorded tracks with the Mercury Music Award nominated Black Star Liner. He starred in the BBC documentary This England.
