Some 5,000 people experienced Rafael Lozano-Hemmer's Under Scan installation in Lincoln between 25 November - 4 December 2005.  Under Scan was installed in front of the University of Lincoln's main campus on The Rotunda Space from 6pm to midnight each night.

David Wallace, emda International Director said:  "We are delighted that thousands of people have taken part in the global premiere of the world's largest video art installation in Lincoln.  A wide range of visitors came to experience Under Scan including local school groups, international visitors and arts industry professionals from other cities.  Artists from the Lincoln area also worked with Rafael Lozano-Hemmer to boost their skills and leave a lasting legacy in the area.  Equipment from Under Scan will also remain here for the artistic community to use in their work."

"Around 200 people from Lincoln were filmed as part of the production of the artwork and will remain an integral part of Under Scan as it tours the region and then hopefully internationally, telling people worldwide about our vibrant region.  In recent years more than £140million has been invested to develop the galleries, museums, theatres, creative businesses and events in our region to help ensure we have a thriving cultural economy.  Under Scan demonstrates our commitment to this massive programme of cultural investment and, as a hi-tech installation, reflects our strengths in science and technology."
