Urban Beats Concerts
Three Cities Urban Beats has been a fantastic success. Featuring a series of free concerts with major international names from the worlds of classical music, North African Rai, jazz flute playing and world music - along with a new dance piece and performance pyrotechnics - Three Cities Urban Beats has entertained audiences at Nottingham Mela, Nottingham Riverside Festival, Leicester Expo and Darley Park Saturday.
Throughout 2005
The free outdoor concerts brought new collaborations and commissions including world and classical music and dance to Derby, Leicester and Nottingham.

Live in the UK for the first time – an amazing fusion of rousing Rai rhythms, beautiful jazz flute melodies and world music beats.
Top flute player and master vocal gymnast Keith Waithe (and his band The Macusi Players) collaborated with renowned Rai master Abdelkader Saadoun to create a new 10-piece supergroup and a thrilling mix of sounds and styles, as Algeria meets Guyana.
